Star Magic in Billo Barber
Billo Barber, the movie which is produced by Shah Rukh Khan, has a host of star casts. Though SRK is acting in the movie, the lead role is played by Irfan Khan and Lara Dutta. It is a story of two friends in a small village who leads an ordinary life. As the years pass by, one reaches a stardom status (SRK) while the other (Irfan Khan) lives a pecuniary life in the village. The movie ends on a happy note with the superstar engrossing his childhood friend and giving a real meaning to friendship.
The movie is adapted from Malaylam ‘Kathaparayompol’ casting Mammotty. The Tamil version ‘Kuselan’ had Rajnikanth playing the role of superstar.
Since SRK plays a top movie star in the movie, one of the star action of the movie is the song, in which he dances with 3 leading heroines, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor. SRK seems to be more than happy not just for their performance alone, but for the reason that, all the three acted in the song without taking any money according to reports.
The Malayalam version was a super hit while the Tamil version failed at the box office. One of the main reason for failure of Tamil version was that, it did not had any Rajnikanth trademarks such as, super human stunts, punch dialogues, inspiring mannerisms etc. and as such his fans were disappointed.
SRK must have watched both versions and having understood the culture of movie goers in Mumbai and Hindi heartland, the screen play must have been carefully sketched out to appease overall audience. The movie is slated to be released early 2009
