SRK to enter Politics?
If the speculation is true, the badshah of bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to enter politics. He is reported to be provided with Lok Sabha ticket by the Congress in the upcoming Parliament election. The ruling UPA lead by Congress, under Dr. Manmohan Singh is under severe criticism from the opposition and the common public. The recent Mumbai terror attack also seems to have hurt the pride of the government a lot.
Under these circumstances, the entry of Shah Rukh Khan into the party mainfold is sure to be shot in the arm for the party. In the last election the party had fielded Govinda from Mumbai and though he triumphed, the cadres are unhappy with his performance and the seat is likely to go to Shahrukh this time. Though neither the Congress nor Shahrukhkhan, have officially announced this, the media sources are very much confident of this
SRK as he is called in Bollywood, has a huge fan following and his inclusion in the party, may give Congress an edge not just in Mumbai, but across India. Big B, Amitabh Bachan who was once upon a time, a close family friend of the Rajiv Gandhi family, fell apart due to personal differences.
Though the party had many cine stars in their party, nobody has been as big as the Big B. Now if SRK jumps into the bandwagon, definitely the party can expect a big boost in the upcoming election.
Filmstars entering into politics is not new to India. MGR and NTR have already made their mark in regional politics, by capturing power in their respective states of Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh respectively. At the same time, there have been instances where the superstars in the silver screen have bitten the dust in Indian politics.
It will be interesting to see whether SRK lives to his reputation to his name - Badshah
